Flashcard manager
The flashcard manager is a single table of every card across your whole vault. It’s the hub for finding cards, checking their health, making changes in bulk, and building custom and filter decks.
Open it from the Open flashcard manager command or the toolbar button in the deck panel. It opens as a modal or a workspace tab, depending on your UI settings.
The table
Section titled “The table”Each row is a card. Columns are sortable, and you can drag to resize them (widths are remembered):

| Front / Back | The card’s two sides. |
| Hint / Notes | Any hint text and notes. |
| File / Breadcrumb | The source note and the heading path above the card. |
| Deck tag / Card tags | The deck’s tag and any per-card tags. |
| State | New or Review, plus Suspended / Buried badges. |
| Health | Leech, Dense, an exam-issue flag, or Healthy. |
| Due / Reviewed | Next due date and last review. |
Use the search box to filter by text, and the per-row Edit button to open a card in the editor.
Card health
Section titled “Card health”The health column surfaces cards worth a second look:
- Leech — repeatedly forgotten (its lapses passed the leech threshold). Consider rewriting it.
- Dense — its back is very long (past the dense-card character threshold). Consider splitting it into smaller cards.
- Exam issue — a task list that couldn’t become a valid exam question.
Bulk actions
Section titled “Bulk actions”Tick the checkboxes to select cards, then act on all of them at once:
- Suspend / Unsuspend — take cards out of (or back into) scheduling.
- Bury / Unbury — hide cards until tomorrow.
- Reset — clear a card’s learning progress.
- AI batch refactor — send the selection to the AI for clarity/grammar fixes or to split dense cards (you review every change).
- Add to custom deck — add the selection to an existing manual deck or create a new one.
Building decks from here
Section titled “Building decks from here”The manager is where both kinds of custom deck are born:
- Manual custom deck — select cards → Add to custom deck → pick or create one.
- Filter deck — click Filter, build rules in the filter popover (a live “n cards match” count updates as you go), then choose Save as filter deck and name it.
